A lot has been going on this summer; clarity around youngest son of Slowwego, an aha moment that came from grumbling to a friend, vacations, extreme weather, and family stuff. Through it all, I have been very conscious that I am being steered towards something, a gut level feeling that I needed to learn or do or change something. Sounds confusing, and let me tell you it was!

The gut feeling and the circumstances of life FINALLY intersected and the day I started reading this book, was the day that the universe via Facebook placed a mini mindset reset in my feed.

Here is the thing about change and mindsets, easy oh so easy to say and hard oh so hard to do. The mini mindset reset is the brainchild of Jess Nadine, she is funny, fit and really one of the most supportive persons I know- she also makes up cool phrases like shaking your swass, and boondiggity. You can follow her on FB and Instagram also, she is also under my favourites.  link:  http://jessnadine.com/

So back to the intersection – the book is a very charming story about Camille who at 38 is not feeling happy, she has all the accruements of a “happy and successful life” but is feeling stressed and dissatisfied, she meets an individual who helps her learn to change her mindset, with exercises such as a Positive Notebook, an alphabetical listing of all the wonderful aspects of Camille’s life and her successes, I like the fact that it is alphabetical and I am actually buying an address book to use this, hopefully, one can still buy them! The most wonderful aspect of the story, is Camille’s journey, it is messy, sometimes slightly nasty and ends- well you have to read the book. The story was written in French and translated into English, so some phrasing is awkward, which I find extremely sweet. The author is Raphaelle Giordano, and she believes that we should all live our life to the limits of one’s childhood dreams.

I am enjoying standing in that intersection, participating in sharing my dreams, facing up to my fears with the support of the Mini Mindset Refresher group on Facebook (whew, not easy to type) and having just read a delightful fictional story that quite frankly has a few grains of truth in it. Change never happens quickly, and there are lots of two steps forward and three steps back and maybe even a few steps sideways, but life is a journey to self-awareness and growth and every little intersection adds interest to the map of our story.

    1. She is great, her business model is pretty effective combined with her personality. She combines some serious workouts with verbal support. I do realize now I should have indicated that it was not a sponsored post, haha maybe one day when more people read the blog.
