Is there an art to being? How do we define ourselves? Why do we see ourselves one way and not another?  3 questions on a Saturday morning….

I got to wondering about this, after getting my hair cut this morning, you see, my stylist is seeing herself differently.  She has been able to break through her old way of thinking and envisioning herself anew. As we chatted, I observed her conviction to her new life, there was no going back for her. She mentally was all the way there, not looking back at all – only going forward.

Is there an art to being, or is it really once we shift our mindsets we are there- what about the danger of back sliding, or not making the change complete? I believe we need to fake it till we make it. We have to experience the growth, the hurdles and the hurts. Putting ourselves out there opens up the vulnerable cracks in our armour. Those cracks that allow new ideas to enter, a new way of thinking.

A new way of thinking, leads to a new way of seeing, a new way of doing and ultimately a new way of being.

Is there an art to being, there sure is – it is messy and abstract, beautiful and ugly, you stretch yourself and sometimes turn inward , but be assured – it is an art …….it is really living.
